Hi everyone! You've all had winter to hide and now it's time to start getting social again.

Barring any April showers, we expect to see you guys enjoying the play yard, the sunshine and each other's company.

We've got a lot of new members who are highly encouraged to show up to our first outdoor activity for the year as it's typically the most low-key event, and a great opportunity to let your kidlet run around in a gated area while you get to know the other members. Besides, what's the point in joining a gay-family social group if you don't show up and socialize, right?

As usual, we'll meet in and around the picnic tables if they're available. Feel free to bring snacks for you and yours and if you're feeling particularly inclined to show off your baking skills, then by all means, bring a treat for the group. It's always welcomed and appreciated.

Hope to see you all there!

From the reviews, the park sounds like it was a bit chaotic and overwhelming. Sorry to hear that... we plan a smaller venue for the next meetup. Also, we realize we cannot please everyone, and we're sorry to hear that not everyone felt welcomed, but we do our best given our ability. The group has grown large enough to not be as intimate which requires members to be more self-initiated when meeting other families. All the same, we're glad to see that some still enjoyed themselves.

I thought it was a bit clicky...only a few people took the time to introduce themselves. Bummer too. Guess we will stay with our current group, they are much friendlier.

Make a day of it.....after the Sac Out & About meetup, head on over to the River Cats game (gametime 1:05pm). They are hosting "Foster Care/Adoption Recruitment Day w/ the River Cats". There will be a parade pre-game, which Cindy, Matt and I will be partaking in. If you can't go, pass the word on to your friends who might be interested in Foster Care/Adoption information.

Who attended?

    •  It's awesome that there are so many gay/lesbian families but it was a bit overwhelming. It was difficult to know who was with the group and who was just at the park on their own. But of course it's always nice to see familiar faces and have the chance to socialize.
    •  This was our first time to 'meetup'with the Out-N-About group. My partner, 2 girls, and I had a great time! Wished we could have met more of you, but I doubt I could have remembered everyone's name, lol. We really enjoyed meeting Cindy and Ben, Jana, Dee, and Madison, DeeDee, Amber, and Carly, Robin (sorry I didn't meet your partner or daughter), and Rich. Hope to meet more of you at upcoming events!

It was a great day and nice weather. I was not able to meet many families because it was in such a large open area. But loved the park.
    •  Great start to the year. It was wonderful to see folks and the weather could not have been better.
